During. 1940s, Col Hoad opened delicatessen business in same spot…his family lived on the hill in Merivale Street where George Pearce and family had a beautiful jacaranda tree growing …..probably still there? It was the only jacaranda tree in blossom every spring with such magnificent showing.☺☺
