Does anyone remember the roller skating rink that was set up on the spare block of land where McDouall and Cruise Nursery is? It was from memory set up in the summer months and taken away before the winter months. I thought that they were large sheets of metal plates that were locked together.I am pretty sure it was in the mid to late 1950″s
I do remember this roller rink….it was there at McDougall & Cruise site when I came back to Tumut to live ( from Sydney ) in Decr 1956….but it was removed after summer, m aybe before Easter, 1997.
It must be where Col Hoad used to have his delicatessen(,in 1950s) and where QUONG Wings store used to be in late 1930s to 1950?? Or am I totally wrong??
The picture is on the same side of the street as McDougall and Cruise. Opposite where Quong Wings store was. I still have a fire cracker purchased from Quong Wings.
